^^the park near our new place!^^

Today is a big day! After being in Amsterdam for close to a month, we are finally getting the keys to our new place. Apparently the kitchen sink is broken (but somehow still usable? It’s very unclear what the issue is), so that’s a bummer since the property manager will have to get it fixed after we’ve moved in, but I’m so excited that we will be out of the hotel SOON and finally settling into our own space.

It’s been quite awhile since we’ve had our own place — almost 9 months. And as someone who really likes being settled and having my own space, I am so excited for this move.

We’re also picking up our residence cards today, which means that we are official residents of the Netherlands (how weird!) Living in a hotel for the past 3+ weeks has made it feel like we don’t actually live here yet (I mean, we’re living out of suitcases still…), so it’s really nice that things are finally moving toward feeling a little more permanent.

By the time this posts, we will be out at our new place doing to the walk-through with the realtor. Here’s hoping that it all goes smoothly!
