Good News!

img_8865Well, we have been waiting patiently for our move in date next Monday. KC was able to get the day off work, which is super helpful since I wasn’t sure how I was going to manage a bunch of Dutch movers loading and unpacking our things while looking after a very wiggly one year old.

The even better news is that we actually get to do our walk through on Friday evening this week! This means that we’ll get the keys then and can start moving our stuff in over the weekend. This is really helpful, because Monday morning was going to be a complete sh**show of trying to get us + all of our stuff over to the new apartment (which would be multiple trips), check out of the hotel and do the walk through with the realtor and property manager, all before the movers show up to load in the stuff we shipped from the US.

That would be a lot to manage without a baby, but adding Prim into the mix is like, “Oh hey, let’s make this 20x more complicated.” Just getting out the door with her in the mornings is like two hours of continuous motion, so I’m really glad that we will have the whole weekend to take stuff over to the new place (and start putting IKEA furniture together. Ugh… I think it’s gonna be a real marriage strengthener, guys.)

img_8875The one thing I will miss about the hotel/apartment we’ve been staying in for the past three weeks is the walk to the grocery store from here. It’s a quick 10 minute walk, but it’s almost entirely through this insanely green park that’s full of birds, ducks, and friendly people walking dogs.

img_8872The good news is we have a park just a few blocks from our new place, which might be even prettier than this one, if you can believe it. Plus, the two times we’ve visited the new park it has been full of dogs (Prim’s absolute favorite thing right now), so I think it’s gonna be good.
