Just started: The Goldfinch
Can’t seem to finish: Outlander: The Fiery Cross
Started and put down awhile ago: Life After Life
Just finished: The Cuckoo’s Calling
Next in line: The Yellow Birds
Other recent reads:
Me Before You (← one of my top favorites of the past year)
Dear Girls Above Me (silly)
The Fault in Our Stars (the BEST book I’ve read in a long time)
Let’s Pretend This Never Happened
Gone Girl (total mind f@#k)
The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work (real life, y’know?)
Are You There, Vodka? It’s me, Chelsea (but not ME, Chelsea)
Fifty Shades Series (because, who didn’t?)
Outlander Series (the first 4 — 1, 2, 3, 4)
How To Love An American Man (ugh, did not like this one)
Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (or, as I like to call it: Extremely Boring and Incredibly Pretentious)
Hunger Games Series (duh)
The Pilot’s Wife (note: don’t start reading this while on a plane ← bad move on my part)
Cutting for Stone (I didn’t love this one like everyone else seems to.)
Bossypants (read immediately if you haven’t already. Also, it will make you laugh out loud, which is awkward if you’re reading it on public transit.)
The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake (omg HATED)
So, what are you reading?
PS: You can find me and my latest reads (occasionally) over on Goodreads.
I listened to Bossypants while driving back to WA from CA. I’m not usually one for books on tape, but it was amazing! I thought the Violets of March and Water for Elephants were pretty excellent as well.
Not too long ago, I finished Girls of the Atomic City. It was interesting, but took me forever to get through. Some non-fiction, no matter the narrative, is just too packed with information to process that much at once. I just started the Book Thief. My initial impressions are somewhat mixed, but it’s a quick read so far.
OMG Bossypants is so amazing, I can’t even deal. I’ve loved both of Sarah Jio’s books I’ve read so far — Blackberry Winter and The Violets of March. (Although, is it me, or do the titles make you feel like you’re reading some awful supermarket paperback?)
