Amsterdam Apartment Tour: Main Floor

img_9110img_9089What really sold us on this apartment was the main floor. The apartment is three levels — the first is an entryway with room to store our stroller and coats and umbrellas, the second is the living area with a living room, dining room, kitchen, and outdoor terrace, and the third floor has three bedrooms, a small laundry room, bathroom and toilet.

img_9109I loved this huge green cabinet when we toured the apartment, and the open storage on the bottom is perfect for storing P’s toys. She can easily see and reach everything, but because these two shelves happen to sit behind the sofa, the toy explosion stays a little more contained to this area of the room (rather than all over every part of the main floor). img_9150The living area is completely open, which along with the super-high ceilings, helps the space feel really large. img_9149img_9148The kitchen is very “Dutch,” with its open shelving and minimalist cabinets, and so far it’s proven to be a very usable space. It’s also nice that on warm days we can open the double doors off the kitchen out to the terrace.

If you’re planning a trip abroad sometime in the next couple of years, maybe you should include Amsterdam on your list!
