weekend

This Weekend Was

This weekend was so amazingly relaxing. On Saturday morning Prim woke up early (as usual) and KC was nice enough to go hang out with her while I slept in. I got up in time to put her down for her first nap, got her down, and then went back to bed. Yeah, I slept in and then took a nap. It was like, life-changing.

img_6720Prim has actually been sleeping pretty well lately, but the long-term sleep deprivation of having a baby really can take a toll after 6, 7, 8+ months of having your sleep interrupted every single night. But having a spouse who’s willing to step in and give me a little extra time in bed is so wonderful and really reinforces what a great husband KC is. (Thanks Kace! You’re my favorite.)

Much of the rest of the weekend was spent relaxing around the house — getting organized after the holidays and just enjoying the quiet together. KC and I started watching Making a Murderer on Netflix (because we’re apparently the only people on the planet who have not seen it yet), which was both fascinating and infuriating. (Being an attorney myself, I’m sort of well-aware of some of the short-comings of our justice system, but it’s still maddening to see those inadequacies blown up into epic proportions.) We’ve only finished the first 3 episodes, and even though I know the outcome (because, hello, I live out in the world and read the news) I still can’t wait to get back to it and finish up the series.

img_6801Another fun development from this weekend: Prim’s tutu pants! Prim has been outgrowing all her pants, and since capri pants don’t make a lot of sense in the dead of winter, I decided to go shopping for some new (longer!) pants to cover her poor ankles. And even though I try not to get too carried away into girl-land with Prim’s wardrobe, I just couldn’t resist these pants when I saw them at Gap.

How was your weekend? Full of naps? I sure hope so.
