Prim turned 6 months yesterday, so we started her on solid food on Sunday. I made a small batch of organic steel cut oatmeal, added extra water, and blended it up with a hand blender. I froze most of the batch (I just got these trays, which are great for freezing homemade baby food) and then thinned out a small portion with a bit of breastmilk to feed to Prim.
Initially, Prim was much more interested in the spoon than the oatmeal, but she got the hang of it after a bit. And I think Penny is realizing that she is about to hit the jackpot once Prim really starts eating (and, of course, dropping a large portion of her meals on the floor.)
Here are more photos of Prim’s first experience with food, if you’d like to see… I’d say it was a success. Next on the list… something green! 🙂
PS: Prim’s highchair is the Stokke Tripp Trapp and her bib is by Aden + Anais
